Boyd’s Grist Mill 12.4.2011

5 Dec ’11 by Ben

I found out about this place Saturday afternoon.  It’s in Middletown and ~1/2 mile from second beach.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven right by and never seen it, but after learning about it I had to go shoot it.  So I set out Sunday morning for my sunrise with a clear […]

IJJ update 31:

5 Dec ’11 by Ben

Well, we’ve had a long week with 2 sick kids this week.  Elias has had a cough and cold that ended in him having an ear infection Saturday night.  He had something similar a few months ago and we think it’s his tubes working their way out finally.  Isabella went to the Drs last week […]

Thanksgiving Scapes

28 Nov ’11 by Ben

Sorry to drop yet another landscape ketchup on you, but I got the chance to get out and shoot two and a half times over the past weekend.  First up was Gooseberry on Thanksgiving morning with Ed, Dave and Will from NSOP.  Then we went back out again Saturday morning with the same group as […]

Happy Thanksgiving/Happy Birthday!

28 Nov ’11 by Ben

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIKKI!!!!  Sorry it’s been two weeks since my last update.  We’ve just been super busy in the Jacobsen household with the holiday.  Today is actually Nikki’s Bday.  Funny thing about that is last night we were talking about how Isabella is also 8 months old today which lead us to calculate Nikki’s age […]

Elephant Rock 11.19.2011

19 Nov ’11 by Ben

Made it down to Elephant Rock this morning.  It’s right on the south western coast of Massachusetts.  I’d seen it mentioned on Google+ the other day, and once I found it on the map I was interested.  I actually though the better shooting location would be west near the beach club, but once I got […]

IJJ update 29

14 Nov ’11 by Ben

Sorry for not writing a bunch tonight, but the packers are on and I’m squeezing this post in between quarters…  The best part of my week came tonight when Elias got to stay up with me to watch the Packers play on Monday night.  The 8:30pm start is half an hour past his bedtime and […]

Landscape ketchup:

13 Nov ’11 by Ben

I got the chance to get out and shoot twice in 24 hours, so the two locations are going into one post.  The first was on Friday afternoon with Andy.  He and I went to a new place he found called Nooseneck Hollow.  It’s a great little place tucked on the side of Rt3 in […]

IJJ update 28

9 Nov ’11 by Ben

Been another busy week.  I’ve been sorting out my camera kit a bit lately, so ignore the pictures of gear in the images below.  I’ve also been working on updating the theme here on BJP.com.  It’s basically an update of the same theme I’ve been using for a while now, but I’ve customized it a […]

Devil’s Hopyard 10.29.2011

30 Oct ’11 by Ben

Made it out to Devil’s Hopyard with a group of NSOP guys Saturday AM.  We had a few mishaps meeting with everyone so Jake and Bryan shot on their own a bit while Dave and I shot with Andy in a spot Andy had found in the spring.  It was a nice smaller set of […]

IJJ Update 27

30 Oct ’11 by Ben

Technically it’s been 2 weeks for a family update, so sorry!  Last weekend we had our huge NSOPgiving BBQ in the back yard with 40 people here.  It’s always a blast, but it’s a weekend long event starting Friday night with some friends flying in then and going through Monday AM for one final sunrise […]

BRZ…

29 Oct ’11 by Ben

What’s a BRZ?  It’s Subaru’s new 2 door coupe that they’ve developed with Toyota…  The Toyota version is officially being called the GT86, the Subaru is called the BRZ which stands for boxer (the motor type) Rear (the wheels the power goes to, yes this is NOT AWD) and Zenith (the concept’s code name).  It […]

NSOPgiving Landscapes.

25 Oct ’11 by Ben

We had an awesome weekend this weekend.  It was NSOPgiving which is a fall party we throw at our house for all the local forum members to come have a great time.  We also go out as a group (whoever is in town) for a sunrise or two.  This trip we had Shawn Thompson from […]

NSOPgiving 2011!

24 Oct ’11 by Ben

Had a little party for the forum at the house this weekend.  What a blast!  We ended up with 25 adults and 15 kids in the end and everyone had a great time.  It’s always a blast to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.  It’s also crazy meeting someone in real […]

Point Judith 10.15.2011

18 Oct ’11 by Ben

Went out to Point Judith Saturday to shoot the sunrise.  The weather man said “windy” but didn’t mention 30~40kts…  It was so windy even with me leaning on my tripod I couldn’t keep the camera still (none of these are critically sharp).  It was still fun shooting but challenging.

IJJ Update #26!

18 Oct ’11 by Ben

Another week in the books.  Not much to report since our trips to Ikea.  We got Elias bed and swing together and he LOVES them.  We returned the table we picked up for the same one in black (instead of birch which was too light) and the next size down.  This weekend was spent getting […]
