BRZ…

What’s a BRZ?  It’s Subaru’s new 2 door coupe that they’ve developed with Toyota…  The Toyota version is officially being called the GT86, the Subaru is called the BRZ which stands for boxer (the motor type) Rear (the wheels the power goes to, yes this is NOT AWD) and Zenith (the concept’s code name).  It looks like it’s going to be a tad bigger than a miatta or MINI with 200HP and phenomenal handling. And the price should be under that of a WRX with it getting around 35mpg.  If all this is true, this could easily be my dream car, but also a consideration for my next car in a few years…

The weight has been listed as 2689 and with 200hp that’s 13.45lb/hp.  Here’s a list of similar cars for reference:

autoblog review

here’s a “to do” list for “mine” when I eventually get one…

  • tom’s tails
  • tint
  • clear bra
  • 18s (gram lights?  Rota gravels?   Something like the “sti”?)
  • no wing, maybe the adhesive lip (this means buy a premium not limited)
  • springs (H&R from perrin) or maybe coilovers
  • swaybars and endlinks (perrins with kartboy for anything possible)
  • exhaust (perrin 2.5 catback)
  • BBK, subaru gloss painted 4 pots or stoptech?
  • supercharger (perrin/vortech -vs- cosworth -vs- crawford -vs- hks)
