New Theme!!!

I finally decided to get a new theme for the blog.  I’m sure you noticed as there are no more words on the main page of the blog and you have to click the most recent image to get to the actual posts!  If you’re reading this, you’ve obviously figured it out, but PLEASE leave a comment below so I know who’s made it this far!!!  You just put in your name, email and some text (leave the website info blank if you want) and I’ll know who I need to call to explain this to!

There were a few reasons for the change.  The first is that the old theme had been my theme for over two years…  I can’t believe I’ve been at this that long, but I have.  The second reason is this new theme loads significantly faster because it’s only loading 7 images when you first get to the site.  All those thumbnails are now inside the post, so you only load the ones you actually want to see (the newest post’s worth for most of you).  And finally, this theme showcases my photography a bit more (it’s meant for sites w/o much text).  So while it’s a bit different at first, I hope you’ll find it as a better layout for the site.   The only downside of this switch is I have to go back and edit every single post (all 275 of them) so the images show up correctly.  So if you’re seeing some question marks as you browse through the archives those will go away within the next week.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the new theme as much as I am!

  1. Hate it! Why can’t I just see photos? I have no time to figure this out! Didn’t Elias do anything this week?

  2. First time here. I really like the home page. It’s refreshing to see a blog that’s doing it differently!

  3. Hi! I stumbled across your site and found this page. I must say that I like the clean design with the white background and large photos. Looks much better and more “web 2.0” than the screenshot you have above of your old theme. Take care!

  4. Hi Ben

I like your photo page very much and I tried to install it also on my host.

One question? If I click on one picture on the front page, then I see the post and below you’ve more pictures to see. How can I do this? It’s so cool.

Perhaps you can help a WordPress Beginner. 🙂

By the way, my host is providing WordPress version 2.6.2.

Thank you for your replay if you have time

    • The images in the posts are done with nextgen gallery. It’s a plugin that you should be able to add using your plugin menu.
