New Gear: Sigma 20mm EX DG

Well as much as I don’t really want to like this lens, it’s actually proving to be quite the sharp, wide, fast bargain.  It’s been on the camera since it came out of it’s box last night, and so far I’ve been very impressed with it.  It’s got sigma’s typical black flake paint job on it.  I’m sure eventually it’ll chip up a bit, but for now it feels very nice in my hand.  The center pinch lens cap is new to sigma since I bought my last lens from them, but it’s a VERY nice cap, much better than canons.  The AF/MF double switch/clutch is a bit odd, but not too terrible.  The AF isn’t too noisey, and very quick.  Granted it doesn’t have far to go, but it gets the job done well.  It does have that non USM/HSM grinding noise to it, but that’s OK.  As for the pics, so far I’ve been very impressed by it.  I’ll try to setup something on the tripod to see just how much wider it really is, but so far I’ve been liking the width.
