Elias 40 week update?

Yeah, so remember how I said I’d do another update last weekend?  I’m guessing you figured out I didn’t get to it by now…..  We ended up having a great weekend and a busy few days this week.  We made another trip to Ikea last Sunday and got a new desk.  I’ll add some pics of that this week once we’re done moving into it completely.  Then Tuesday was the Brick Alley Pub Christmas party which we couldn’t miss (tons of family & friends AND free awesome food!).  Wednesday night I had a blood donation appt., then Thursday I got a new camera.

I normally don’t like to discuss my photo gear here because most of you don’t care, or understand these things, but this week you’re stuck.  I shoot with DSLR cameras and I love wide angles.  This means I prefer “full frame” bodies.  Basically, the sensor is the same size as real film used to be -vs- much smaller sensors in other cameras.  The full frame camera I had been using was just updated by Canon in September.  I immediately sold mine while it was worth more and ordered the new version.  But it took until last week for them to finally get to end users.  So I’ve been playing with the new camera for the rest of the week instead of updating the blog.  I won’t bore you with too many more details, but one of the really cool new features is it takes videos.  But not just any videos, HD videos!  This means you’ll be stuck watching more movies of Elias… 😆  Also, for you technical people who read this, I use youtube (for now) to post the videos here.  Youtube IS NOT HD…  They offer a better quality on the video’s page, but still not real HD.  I’ll be working on getting better looking clips here as soon as I can, but for now just enjoy what we’ve got so far. If you want to see the videos in Youtube’s “HD” quality, double click the video, then click “view in HD” at the bottom left corner of the video on it’s youtube page.

  1. That photo of Elias chewing on the gate (the one with Nikki in the background – in the kitchen, I tihnk) is classic. You can see the gears turning…
