NOT!!!! OK, Rhode Islanders have always had issues with snow. Not quite sure why though??? This is New England right? It does snow here EVERY winter right? But still, ever since the “Blizzard of ’78” they all go crazy here whenever snow is even forecast. We’re talking stores sold out of milk and bread, and people pleading to go home early… Anyway, it snowed about 8″ here last night. I have Blizzaks on my WRX, so it’s no big deal for me. Does this mean I can drive like a lunatic? Of course not, but it does mean I don’t have a lot of trouble. I also keep a shovel in my trunk just in case (it’s a low car). I got lucky with the traffic and where I live because everyone at work was talking about 2+ hour drives home. Took me 55 minutes (35~45 average depending on traffic) which was way easier than I expected. I will take credit for one thing though. When I got onto the quiet back roads that go to my house they were deserted and filled with just enough snow to have fun… But if I turned my brights on I couldn’t see with all the snow still coming down. And with the low beams only, I couldn’t see to well. So I behaved the whole way home…… to find a 4 point buck in the road just before I got home. Had I been going any faster he could have been dinner and I would have felt pretty dumb (making it 99% of the way then hitting a deer?) Oh Dear! 😉
