Labor Day weekend fun

Well we had a wonderful 3 day weekend. It’s the “end of the summer” weekend, so there was a lot of work to be done, but we also had some fun too. Friday night was a fun get together in MA with one of Nikki’s great friends. I was a bit of the “odd man out” since it was all women for all but a half hour, but it was still a lot of fun, and great food. It was at Incontro.

Saturday was a bit of a workday. Nikki and I got up early to take Mo for a walk on the beach. Then since the sailing season is over for the little boat so it was down to Sail Newport to derig. Interestingly, the SB3 was there and out sailing. I hadn’t noticed it’s empty trailer, but right when we finished we saw the bright yellow asym chute coming into the dock. We went down and checked it out. Looks great in the water. It will be interesting to see if they do any sort of boat show specials. After sailing I went home in time for low tide and did some quahogging. We got enough to make stuffies for Sunday.

Sunday we got up and went for another beach walk with Mo. Then we spent the rest of the morning doing yard work and getting ready for the annual party at Nikki’s cousin Steve’s in Newport. We cleared out a ton of junk out of the shed which was great (I can now get things out w/o having to always take out my surfboards and the lawn mower!). We then made 29 stuffies from the quahogs we “caught” on Saturday. Then off to another fabulous party at Steve’s. It was the first time most of that part of her family saw her pregnant, so that was a lot of fun (and a lot of great food).

Monday was a relaxing day. We went for our third walk with Moseley on the beach in the morning. Then it was off to babies -r- us for our first research mission. We have no idea what we want crib/carseat/everything else yet, so we figured we’d go look around, so we could then call our friends and see what’s worked for them and know what we’re talking about (at least a little bit). We then went to our favorite ice cream shop for “lunch” and went home to take a nap. We also went for another walk in Goddard park in the evening.

Another great weekend!
