Deidre & Nick get hitched!

2 Sep ’11 by Ben

Deidre and Nick got married last Saturday and I had the pleasure of being their photographer.  They are such a fun couple, it was a blast hanging out with them all day shooting the events of the day.  Enjoy!

Irene!

2 Sep ’11 by Ben

It’s been a busy few weeks…  This post covers a few things, the first wedding I’ve officially shot, a hurricane, us winning our first viper race, us losing our first viper race a week later, taking the boat apart and reassembling between those two, no power for 4.5 days and a bunch of other fun […]

Landscape Catchup:

19 Aug ’11 by Ben

I’ve been a bit busy the last few weeks (always a good thing) so I’ve fallen a tad bit behind with two of my landscape shoots (clients come first!).  I finally got a chance to sit down and process a set from Hazard Ave on July 30th and then Sakonnet Point August 8th.  Hazard was […]

Swiss Family Hanley!

16 Aug ’11 by Ben

I got a chance to do a family portrait session for the Hanleys last week.   They finally had their ENTIRE family in one place at one time.  It was a blast working with a group this large.  Enjoy.

Cove Haven

8 Aug ’11 by Ben

I got the chance to shoot with Melissa Hutchinson at a new project she just wrapped up in Newport.  What an amazing location, and the work done was very nice as well.  I LOVED the ceilings and the new office, although I doubt I’d get much work done on the half of the desk with the better […]

Elias goes Landscaping!!!

7 Aug ’11 by Ben

We all went over to Debbie’s house Friday night to keep her company (she can’t drive and Andy is in Martha’s Vineyard).  This meant I had to take Elias with me if I wanted to go shoot a sunrise the next morning, but Saturday was the best option weather wise…  So I planted the seed […]

Buttonwoods 7.23.2011

24 Jul ’11 by Ben

Well I finally made it out to Buttonwoods to see the sunrise.  We went Saturday morning and arrived a bit before sunrise and actually managed to get lucky with both the flowers (which “only” point towards the sun) and the weather.  Enjoy.

Sachuest 7.17.2011

18 Jul ’11 by Ben

Went down to Sachuest again this weekend.  Something about this place just keeps me coming back…  I’ve got good shots from here, but I know I can do better, so I keep trying to get it “right” which is always fun.  The sunrise wasn’t amazing this week, but still gave me something to work with. […]

Sachuest 7.10.2011

11 Jul ’11 by Ben

Bryan and I made it out to Sachuest Sunday morning.  It was actually one of the better ocean sunrises in a long while this summer which was a nice treat.  Sachuest has always been a struggle for me in terms of including the actual sunrise, but I think I finally got something that works in […]

Bash Bish Falls

11 Jul ’11 by Ben

On Tuesday Andy and I headed out to Bash Bish Falls in Massachusetts.  I basically grew up about 10 minutes from here but haven’t been back in over 10 years, especially not to shoot some serious landscapes.  Andy and I are always taking about doing some scapes further away, but between work schedules and family schedules […]

Devil’s Hopyard 7.4.2011

11 Jul ’11 by Ben

Went to Devil’s Hopyard with Andy and Dan on Monday morning.  It was a bit foggy which made it less than ideal shooting wise, but with the three of us (and Dan’s not  a landscape guy) we had a blast figuring out the best way to shoot the place.  Enjoy.

2011 Air Show shots

27 Jun ’11 by Ben

I actually went to quonset on Sunday for the (record setting attendance/”sold out”) airshow.  It was my first time going -vs- watching from either the beach near our house or by boat, which was awesome.  I had Elias with me and this was during his nap time so he eventually hit his limit and asked […]

Beavertail 6.18.2011

20 Jun ’11 by Ben

My sister was in town over the weekend so I dragged her out on the one “partly cloudy” morning which turned into a total gray ugly morning, but we still made the best of it and had some fun.  We decided to go to Beavertail as she loves lighthouses (who doesn’t) and it’s the easiest […]

J regatta!

19 Jun ’11 by Ben

The Js put on an awesome show in Newport for 5 days wrapping up this weekend.  I was able to get out for one day on Saturday and watch 2 races (Friday’s was postponed/cancelled and raced Saturday).  It’s amazing seeing 2 boat of this size and speed race INSIDE Narragansett bay.

Stepping Stone

12 Jun ’11 by Ben

Went to Stepstone Falls this morning.  What a crappy morning to force myself out of bed (pouring rain).  But I checked the radar and it looked like it should clear so I headed out anyway.  Sat in the car for an hour reading Outdoor Photographer (mail was still in the car) and the rain stopped […]
