Presidential Traverse

Dave Simms and I made it up to NH back in late June.  Dave was getting ready for a bigger trip and I’ve always wanted to do the presidential traverse.  Our original plan was to do Mount Washington and maybe add on a few more miles if the weather allowed.  We did our now typical late night drive up, nap in the car in the parking lot, then hit the trail well before sunrise routine.  We were on Lion’s Head just after sunrise and on the summit well before they opened (and were the first there for the day).  It was also freakishly calm and warm for Mount Washington.    From there we knew what we wanted to do so we set out north and hit the summits of Mt Clay, Mt Jefferson, Mt Adams and then Mt Madison and then looped back to the Pinkham Notch visitor center.  All in all it was around 17 miles and took us 14 hours.  What a hike!
