Pico?

Pico?  Yep, PICO!!!  Elias went to his third state this weekend going for his longest car ride yet (~4:30) going up to Pico in VT.  I was very excited when Andy and Debbie suggested it because I grew up skiing at Pico about 20~25 years ago, but hadn’t been back since.  Well it’s alive and well and Andy Debbie and Nikki had many of the same comments we all have had about it -vs- Killington (Kmart).  We were lucky enough to get to borrow a family friends condo/appt for the weekend, so a BIG THANK YOU to Jackie Wallace!  He’s got an awesome apartment about 1/2 mile from Pico (just down the hill from the long trail inn).  Elias was pretty good sleeping in a new place.  Debbie watched him Saturday morning as the rest of us skied, then Nikki went in (I swear I offered) and Debbie got a chance to get out on the snow.  It was a perfect day, no crowd, great snow, and above freezing.  It was a blast getting to go back on all the trails I grew up on.

Elias didn’t seem to mind much, he had one rough bit in the car when he was hungry and we needed to find a place to stop faster.  His only other issue was going to bed, but he was just over tired.  Apparently when we’d leave to go skiing he’d cry at the door for a few minutes, but other than that he didn’t destroy Jackie’s place and he seemed to not mind the super long car rides.  He LOVED the pub/bar/restaurant we went to for dinner as well as wicked good pizza on the way home in Ludlow.  The band was only setting up at dinner as we were getting ready to leave but one of the members kept bringing over all his instruments so Elias could check them out.

We had a great time and would love to thank Jackie, Andy and Debbie for getting this together!
