More Visitors!

We’ve had a nice slow Saturday around the house today. Elias again only needed one feeding in the night (and Nikki probably needed it just as bad at this point!). Everyone got a decent night sleep. We woke up pretty early to feed him, then I stayed awake with him sleeping on my chest in bed while Nikki napped. ALMS (American LeMans Series car racing) was on TV (it still is actually) so I had a great time watching the start of the 12 hours at Sebring. We then got up and out of bed around noon and lounged watching TV all afternoon. Around 6pm we had some friends come to visit. Matt and Leah were in town with Mark and Hanna. We all know each other via my photography forum, but it was our first time meeting Mark and Hanna. It’s always interesting meeting forum members for the first time. You really feel like you know them, but you’ve never actually met them. It was great putting faces to go with the names finally, and thank you for the wonderful gift for Elias!

You’ll notice all but one of the shots are in B+W. For some reason I’m just in a B+W mood lately, but the one color shoot was too perfect with how blond Elias’ hair was in the light like that. I couldn’t push the button on that one.

Elias’ first “outting”!

Nikki has a huge family. They all want to meet Elias (who wouldn’t, sorry, I’m a proud Daddy!). One of her cousins turns 25 on Tuesday (yes the same birthday as my mom for those of you keeping score). So they had a nice party tonight at the Plumb’s house for Ralphie. We took Elias because we knew everyone there wanted to meet him, and it was a controlled environment. Elias loves car rides, so he was out before we left our driveway. He slept the entire way there and stayed asleep in his seat on the kitchen island for a good half hour once we had arrived. All the women at the party flocked to meet him which was interesting to see. We introduced him to great aunts and uncles as well as quite a few second cousins. It was a great time as are all of the parties at the Plumb’s house. We really enjoyed it and it was good to get out of the house for something other than a doctor’s appointment for once.

But why is my mother the opening shot then? Well my parents both came over for a fun visit this afternoon. It’s their first real day off with no work, boat stuff, or house stuff in the ~4 weeks they’ve been home. So they drove over to visit with us, but really to check out Elias again. They had a great time with us for almost 2 hours, but my mom had a favor: She has new glasses and her mom (Nanoo!) wants to see them… well what better way than to come near Elias and have your picture taken. Hi Nanoo!!! And Mom, we really do love your new glasses, it’s like they’re not even there. And Happy Birthday on Tuesday, we won’t forget, but we figure hearing it a few times is better than once!

Growth Spurt?

Elias seemed to have a growth spurt last night. The nurse that visited last week warned Nikki about them. If it happens it means he wants to feed just about every hour. That’s exactly what he did last night. Nikki was up every hour with very little sleep between feedings all night long. I helped as much as I could but I’m useless when it comes to feeding for now. Debbie came over again today to help around the house and get Nikki some much needed sleep. I came home to an awake little man in his crib. He’s awake more and more with each day which is great fun. I had him on my chest for a few hours tonight. He even kept his head up off my chest for a few minutes straight. I love coming home to the baby.

Oh, and because Mom will read this in the morning, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!
