Arrrrrrghh!!!

Elias the puddle pirate (waits to see how many people might get that…)?  There’s a story to this, but it’s long and involves internet jokes so just trust me it’s as funny as Elias is cute.  This week’s been fun though.  Elias licked everything in sight at Ikea last weekend while having a great time.  Yeah, we spent 7 hours away from home on that trip, which means 4 hours IN Ikea…. Anyway, we got a new bed (the primary objective, but if you’ve been to Ikea, you know you always end up with another cart full of “must haves”).  We really got sucked into the kids department as it was our first time there since Elias was born.  The long and the short of this is we got more new toys for Elias, but he brought home a cold.  That got both of us sick…  We’re getting over it pretty well now, but you’ll notice some wicked boogers in some of the shots of Elias this week.  He’s dealt with his cold pretty well but snores/gurgles a bit when he sleeps.

As for this weekend, my parents were a huge help Saturday at the house.  Mom and Dad both offered to come over and help split the wood pile I had.  They even offered to rent the wood splitter which ended up being a giant help.  Dad and I looked at the pile and thought it’d be any easy half day job.  Well we split for 3.5 solid hours and didn’t even come close to finishing (maybe 2/3rds done?).  Lucky for us we’d also planned on sailing in the afternoon as a “reward” and one last sail on the little boat (it was Dad’s first time back out on sluff since we’d been run over).  There was, of course, NO WIND, but luckily it was just filling in enough to consider sailing.  We were both so desperate, we went anyway and had an awesome sail.  We basically “stole one” where we maybe missed a half hour on either end, but we would have been pushing it wind wise if we’d tried.  We ended up having a perfect sail where we were both on the high side the entire time, ZERO issues with the boat, and just a great time.

Oh, and there’s a little something tomorrow for me and Nikki!
