  • Brooklyn Bridge

    Brooklyn Bridge

Photoexpo (a photography trade show) was in New York City this weekend. I love going to the show and checking out the new toys as well as talking with my affiliates. I also got a chance this trip to meet and shoot with Dan Carr for sunrise. We both had the same thought with shooting…

  • Autumn at Enders Falls!

    Autumn at Enders Falls!

Because fall at Ender’s Falls just sounds weird… Ha ha. Went to Enders Saturday morning with Bryan from NSOP and had a great time. We hit up every fall in the series (first time I’ve done that in one trip) so I was sure to get a “passable” shot of each just so I could…

  • Lake of the clouds!

    Lake of the clouds!

Well, I finally got up on/around Mount Washington for a good/great sunrise.  This was actually taken OF Mount Washington FROM the summit of Mount Monroe.  You can see the lake of the clouds as well.  I was lucky enough to get a free nights stay at the hut from my buddy David Simms.  I jumped…

  • Beavertail!

    Beavertail!

Made it down to Beavertail Saturday and was treated to a pretty epic sunrise.  It was quite calm and VERY low tide so I could get out on some rocks well south of the light reasonably safely (I didn’t even get my boots wet!).  Enjoy.

  • Ned’s Lighthouse

    Ned’s Lighthouse

Made it out to a new location last weekend, Ned’s Lighthouse.  Dave (Simms) suggested it so we headed out to a fun lighthouse in Massachusetts with easy access.  It’s was almost weird having it be at the end of a street in town with a park with plenty of parking and no rules.  Enjoy.

  • Gray Days

    Gray Days

Sometimes I go out on my sunrise shoots and find drab gray mornings.  I don’t let it keep me from shooting.  I always work to get something worthwhile from every shoot.  Let me know what you think!

  • Black Point 7.31.2012

    Black Point 7.31.2012

Made it down to Black Point in Narragansett this morning.  This is another place I’ve been before but never gotten anything I really loved.  That changed this morning.  Enjoy.

  • Mount Washington Sunrise!

    Mount Washington Sunrise!

Mount Washington open’s it’s auto road for sunrises 3 times a year.  I learned that last week, and this Sunday just happened to be one of the days… So David Howland and I hopped in the MINI late Saturday night and headed up to see what sort of fun we could have.  We got there around 2:30am…

  • Hazard Ave 7.26.2012

    Hazard Ave 7.26.2012

This was actually meant to be a Bass Rock shoot this AM.  I even went there and shot for about a half hour during blue hour.  But there were 6~8 fishermen there and a TON of their trash.  I was totally discouraged, but the light was so amazing I wasn’t going to not get anything…

  • Brenton Cove

    Brenton Cove

I finally got out to Brenton Cove for a sunrise.  Why?  Because I was asked to leave Castle Hill…  Anyway, Brenton was actually a nice place to explore.  I haven’t shot there before (for a sunrise/sunset at least) so it was nice to try something new.  The sunrise angle was a bit far north for…

  • Sachuest 7.15.2012

    Sachuest 7.15.2012

My buddy Dave Simms and I made it out to Sachuest Sunday morning.  He and I always have a good time shooting together, but this morning mother nature put on a great show with a pretty special sunrise we both enjoyed.

  • Ledge Road Newport 7.7.2012

    Ledge Road Newport 7.7.2012

Made it down to Ledge Road this past weekend with Eric Gove from NSOP.  It was SUPER low tide AND we were treated to a rad sunrise.  Enjoy.

  • June Landscape Ketchup!

    June Landscape Ketchup!

I’ve been shooting a lot lately but I’ve been getting behind on my posting!  This posts covers about 2 weeks worth of (less than stellar) landscape sessions I’ve had.  I’ve been to Castle Hill and Beavertail for sunrises.  I’ve been out to the cape for a sunrise.  I’ve also been to the Jamestown Windmill due…

  • Lupines!

    Lupines!

I made it up to New Hampshire Saturday morning with a few friends from NSOP to shoot the lupines.  It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a few years but never got around to.  I’ve always know they were on “sugar hill” but we didn’t know much more beyond that and to watch for “sunset…

  • Lighthouses!

    Lighthouses!

In case you hadn’t noticed I’ve been shooting a lot of lighthouses lately…  I’m working on a new site, lighthousesofri.com where I’ve shot all 21 of the lighthouses in Rhode Island.  I’m putting together a guide & gallery where photographers can go to learn the best ways to shoot each light and people who appreciate…
