Show Grid Show List

Boyd’s Grist Mill 12.4.2011

5 Dec ’11 by Ben

I found out about this place Saturday afternoon.  It’s in Middletown and ~1/2 mile from second beach.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven right by and never seen it, but after learning about it I had to go shoot it.  So I set out Sunday morning for my sunrise with a clear […]

Thanksgiving Scapes

28 Nov ’11 by Ben

Sorry to drop yet another landscape ketchup on you, but I got the chance to get out and shoot two and a half times over the past weekend.  First up was Gooseberry on Thanksgiving morning with Ed, Dave and Will from NSOP.  Then we went back out again Saturday morning with the same group as […]

Elephant Rock 11.19.2011

19 Nov ’11 by Ben

Made it down to Elephant Rock this morning.  It’s right on the south western coast of Massachusetts.  I’d seen it mentioned on Google+ the other day, and once I found it on the map I was interested.  I actually though the better shooting location would be west near the beach club, but once I got […]

Landscape ketchup:

13 Nov ’11 by Ben

I got the chance to get out and shoot twice in 24 hours, so the two locations are going into one post.  The first was on Friday afternoon with Andy.  He and I went to a new place he found called Nooseneck Hollow.  It’s a great little place tucked on the side of Rt3 in […]

Devil’s Hopyard 10.29.2011

30 Oct ’11 by Ben

Made it out to Devil’s Hopyard with a group of NSOP guys Saturday AM.  We had a few mishaps meeting with everyone so Jake and Bryan shot on their own a bit while Dave and I shot with Andy in a spot Andy had found in the spring.  It was a nice smaller set of […]

NSOPgiving Landscapes.

25 Oct ’11 by Ben

We had an awesome weekend this weekend.  It was NSOPgiving which is a fall party we throw at our house for all the local forum members to come have a great time.  We also go out as a group (whoever is in town) for a sunrise or two.  This trip we had Shawn Thompson from […]

NSOPgiving 2011!

24 Oct ’11 by Ben

Had a little party for the forum at the house this weekend.  What a blast!  We ended up with 25 adults and 15 kids in the end and everyone had a great time.  It’s always a blast to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.  It’s also crazy meeting someone in real […]

Point Judith 10.15.2011

18 Oct ’11 by Ben

Went out to Point Judith Saturday to shoot the sunrise.  The weather man said “windy” but didn’t mention 30~40kts…  It was so windy even with me leaning on my tripod I couldn’t keep the camera still (none of these are critically sharp).  It was still fun shooting but challenging.

Ledge Road 10.2.2011

14 Oct ’11 by Ben

Made it out to ledge road again last week.  I tried to shoot there Saturday am, but I left the house w/o a raincoat (it wasn’t raining at the time) and drove down there only for it to start pouring as soon as I crossed the Newport Bridge.  So I went back Sunday as I […]

Mount Washington!

28 Sep ’11 by Ben

Went to Mount Washington this weekend. I’m working on a project with some friends for PBS right now, so we hiked Tuckerman’s.  We also had enough time to go all the way to the top for my first time ever. It was a great day for it, ~70º at the bottom and ~50º at the […]

Trustom Pond

23 Sep ’11 by Ben

Made it down to Trustom Pond for the sunrise this past weekend.  My parents used to live less than 10 minutes from there when I was in college, so I knew the area had (has) potential, but I hadn’t been in a while.  I ended up waking up about an hour late (5:24am when I […]

Newport Federal

23 Sep ’11 by Ben

Shot the new Newport Federal credit union in Portsmouth last week.  It’s a very nice property.  I’d driven by as they were building it, so it was fun to be able to get inside and see what it looked liked.  It was also 49º the morning of the shoot which was a nice surprise for […]

Njabini Apparel product shots

15 Sep ’11 by Ben

I got the opportunity to do some product shots for Mike Behan and his project Njabini Apparel. Their website is a work in progress right now, so be sure to head on over to their facebook page and check them out.  These are some amazing items and you really need to read the story about […]

Behan Family Portriats

8 Sep ’11 by Ben

One of my architectural clients asked me to shoot some family photos for them while they had everyone in town all at the same time 2 weeks ago.  It was fun to meet the entire family and shoot with them outside of their usual work setting.

Landscape Catchup II

8 Sep ’11 by Ben

Yep, I’m still behind on my processing.  The hurricane certainly didn’t help, but it’s also because I’ve had a bunch of photography work lately that takes priority in the processing cue.  This set is from the day before Irene at Newton Ave in Narragansett, then this past weekend at Sachuest Point in Newport.  I’ve been […]
