Back to canon…
Switched back to canon. Nikon’s are great, but the Nikon tax killed me in the end. $2200 for the 24G specifically. Not that some of these lenses are inexpensive, but I bought them all used and save a ton. I’ve got a body I like and lenses I love now and so far so good. …

Summer Vacation 2010
Well, back to work tomorrow. That’ll be a bummer. We had a pretty good summer vacation this year considering we didn’t do much. We went to Andy’s Bday on the 4th at their cottage which was a ton of fun (and food) as usual. Then we went to Block Island with my parents and Nikki’s…

Ledge Road, 7.10.2010
Went out to Ledge Road this morning. The weather was forecast to be raining on and off and it had rained all night, but I caught a break there. Then driving over the Newport Bridge it was quite foggy which made me wonder what I’d get, but somehow there wasn’t any fog on the ocean…

Happy 4th of July!!!
There’s something a bit different with this post…. 100% of the images in it are iPhone pics. I got an iPhone last week, which means Nikki has my old iPhone (jailbroken w/o data). She’s been shooting up a STORM in the last week and has some awesome shots. I also shoot with my phone a…

Happy 4th Sunrise!!!
Went to Sachuest this morning for the sunrise. The light was awesome for once, but the bugs were miserable… I forgot long pants and there was zero wind, so I go eaten for as long as I could bear it then packed up and came home early. It was still fun and I probably got…

NSOP Airshow BBQ
Had a great weekend with my photo forum guys. It’s the local airshow, so we do a potluck BBQ in the backyard after, and a bunch of us go down to the beach and have fun shooting it and catching up. The food was amazing this year with everyone bringing some great dished. We had…

Black Point 6.20.2010
Got to get out and shoot another sunrise with the guys this weekend. We went to black point which is always interesting for me. I’m not comfortable there in terms of finding great compositions, but I usually find a few that work alright. Sunday was no different. The light was a bit weird too, not…

Happy Fathers Day!
We had a busy weekend. Not really doing all that much, but we got a lot done. Nikki and I ran 5 miles together Sunday. Then we came home and began some yard work that didn’t end until ~2:30 today… Today was a sunrise then bike ride, then finishing the yard work(trimming/bagging the trees in…

F-stop Tilopa Video Review
^ That’s a video, so watch it for the meat of the review. The f-stop tilopa is an amazing backpack. I’ve had it for about a month now and I’ve yet to be uncomfortable wearing it, even with my entire kit packed into it just to see how it’d feel. It’s not winter and being…

Mr Fix it…
Well I didn’t really post anything last week. I’ve been super busy with work, and shooting some paid gigs, and a wedding (congrats Matt and Jennie Kay!) and everything else so the blog suffer. I also finally got a chance to fix my car, I’d hit a pot hole back in March and had some…

sluff 2010
Dad got out in the dinghy Monday to get some shots/video’s of Ruleo Leo and me in sluff before those guys headed off to NYC and PA… Of course we sailed to another DFL with the breeze dying as we sailed, but we had a great time. We actually hit 13.4kt at one point on…

Newton 6.6.2010
Went to Newton with the NSOP guys this morning. The sunrise was OK, with the thunder storms in the area it had potential but it didn’t turn out as epic as we’d hoped. It was still fun though and we had 5 guys this morning which is a lot for our group.

Attention Canon, your UWA hoods are TERRIBLE!
I don’t even shoot canon anymore, but I’m still active on PotN and have the shots of this project so I figured I’d share this officially (this shots are buried in a 17-40 post here somewhere). Basically, canon uses the same hood on the 17-40L, 16-35L (but they made it even bigger for the 16-35II!)…
