Went up to Mount Washington yesterday for a quick hike.  I had some things to test and review and also wanted to get out for a hike.  I managed to make it up lions head to the summit in 2:07 and the round trip coming down tuckerman’s was 4:02!  Enjoy the images:

    Elias skiing, birthdays and more!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg1nl97U7Qo We’ve had a crazy month here in March!  3 Birthdays (Elias turned 5, I turned 35, Bella turned 2).  I lost my job at winkflash (laid off) but got a new job a week later at a much better company (who’s already sent me to HP for a week of training!).  Elias and I…

    Some X100s samples:

Went to Wachusett with Elias last weekend.  Had a great time and Elias no longer uses an “edgy wedgie”.   We skied almost all day (9-4pm).  This past weekend we had easter at the house and celebrated my birthday as well as Isabella’s Sunday.  It was a great time.

  • The EVIL truth:

    The EVIL truth:

Call them EVILs (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens), CSCs (compact system cameras) or MILKs (mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras), but these cameras all have a few things in common.  They’re small, and they’re meant to replace your big camera to a certain extent.  Yes some people are stepping up to these cameras from a P&S, but for the most part anyone…

    2012 Recap

2012 was one heck of a year for me.  I lost my desk job in January which was the best thing to ever happen to me.  I worked on a television show for PBS which I both filmed for and was in.  I lost 45 pounds.  I went full time with my photography business.  We…

  • Photoexpo 2012

    Photoexpo 2012

Took my anual trip to photoexpo Saturday.  It’s always a great show and well worth the time for me but this year was especially good for a few reasons.  The first is EVIL/CSC cameras and their “systems” are really maturing.  Sony has the NEX 6 and 5r with their new 10-18mm.  Fuji has the X-E1…

  • Brooklyn Bridge

    Brooklyn Bridge

Photoexpo (a photography trade show) was in New York City this weekend. I love going to the show and checking out the new toys as well as talking with my affiliates. I also got a chance this trip to meet and shoot with Dan Carr for sunrise. We both had the same thought with shooting…

  • “Is this Photoshopped?”

    “Is this Photoshopped?”

This question is one that comes up far too often in photography these days because of the digital nature of most of our work.  I’ve recently been asked this very question by the gallery owners at the three different galleries I’m (fortunate enough to be) in right now.  This morning I opened a can of…
