Eye Infection?!

Well this week wasn’t much fun…  Elias managed to get an eye infection.  It was officially pre-orbital cellulitis.  He gets very bad reactions to mosquitoes and one bit him close to his eye.  That lead to an infection which made his lower eyelid swell shut.  So he went to the Dr’s once, then the eye Dr’s twice.  It was serious enough that if the swelling hadn’t gone down with the first antibiotic he would have had to have gone to the hospital for intervenes antibiotics…  He seemed OK and was running around as he usually did, but this of course made for 2 stressed out parents (and grandparents as well).  It also meant (and still means actually) antibiotics 2 times a day which is a TON of fun (he’s learn how to spit it out regardless of how far down his throat you stuff the syringe).

He was Fine by Friday though so we’ve had a great weekend.  Saturday we went to the park and went out for ice cream where Elias had his own cone!  Sunday Dad and I sailed sluff around Jamestown and had a great time hitting 14.7kt max and 13.4kt max 10 second average.  We had a blast and it was the perfect sailing day for the little boat blowing anywhere from 10 to probably 20 in the puffs.  Today was Andy and Debbie’s anniversary and they invited the whole family over for a nice BBQ on their back deck.
