For the first time ever I was able to have “perfect attendance” for a ski season at one area skiing there every single day they were open! I’ve been trying this since I started instructing but something always broke the streak (broken leg, covid, etc) or caused an * on the numbers (being closed for -30°). This year I skied 122 consecutive days at Bridger.
I also set out to take a picture every day for the whole time. While I was instructing this was often more of a chore but once I left ski school I found myself looking forward to finding a good image for the day or possibly more than one. By the end of the season it felt like I was getting better at finding fun areas or situations most days and it became easier for me to create images I was happy with.
Along the way I also learned quite a bit about what I like in terms of camera for bringing with me while skiing (which will become it’s own post and will be linked here eventually). The TLDR; version is pocketable with a wide angle lens. The old sony NEX5t with 10-18mm then 10-20mm PZ became my go to while waiting for the canon powershot v1 to ship. I had the powershot for the last 4 days but it’ll be amazing for this project next season.
If you don’t follow me on instagram you might want to, I was doing a reel a day for a while over there and those aren’t anywhere else. LINK
