“Is this Photoshopped?”
This question is one that comes up far too often in photography these days because of the digital nature of most of our work. I’ve recently been asked this very question by the gallery owners at the three different galleries I’m (fortunate enough to be) in right now. This morning I opened a can of…

Autumn at Enders Falls!
Because fall at Ender’s Falls just sounds weird… Ha ha. Went to Enders Saturday morning with Bryan from NSOP and had a great time. We hit up every fall in the series (first time I’ve done that in one trip) so I was sure to get a “passable” shot of each just so I could…

Congrats Lindsey and Andrew!
I got the chance to go to a wedding for fun a few weekends ago. My cousin Lindsey got married in Minneapolis and Nikki and I had the pleasure of getting out there for a long weekend. We had a blast and they had an amazing wedding. It was great catching up with everyone. For…

IJJ 53 week update!
Well the big news this “week” is I have a new job. I’m the printing press operator at winkflash.com which is a local printing house (third biggest in the US and 4 miles from our house!). It’s been a lot of fun learning the ropes, printing presses are no jokes and keep me on my toes. It’s…

Arca compatible holster solution:
If you’re an L-bracket user looking to use a holster as well, you know this isn’t an easy problem to solve. If you put the holster pin or plate or button onto your L-bracket it takes valuable space from your clamp. It also makes the camera unbalanced when you set it down on a flat…

IJJ update 52
yes two updates in a day… This one just covers the long weekend but I wanted to get caught up and doing them all at once was just a bit too much for one post IMHO so here we were. We got to get out to the beach TWICE this weekend. The first trip was…

Up Monroe…
So I obviously posted about climbing Mount Monroe already this weekend here. But that was just the best images from the trip like I usually do with my landscape outings. With this trip though it was an overnight at the lake of the clouds hut with a lot of hiking around so I’ve got a ton…

August catchup…
Yes I’m very behind with my family blog posts… I’ve been all over the place doing things lately including shooting weddings on the weekends as a second shooter for the Baillys… We’ve been doing a lot of fun things at night as well so I don’t have as much time at home to process and…

Lake of the clouds!
Well, I finally got up on/around Mount Washington for a good/great sunrise. This was actually taken OF Mount Washington FROM the summit of Mount Monroe. You can see the lake of the clouds as well. I was lucky enough to get a free nights stay at the hut from my buddy David Simms. I jumped…

Gradual Neutral Density Filter FAQ
Filters are one of my most used tools in my kit. After the obvious camera, lens and tripod I use for my landscapes, my filters are always the next pieces out of my bag (followed by my remote). I prefer to capture my images as best as possible in camera to avoid as much processing…

Beavertail!
Made it down to Beavertail Saturday and was treated to a pretty epic sunrise. It was quite calm and VERY low tide so I could get out on some rocks well south of the light reasonably safely (I didn’t even get my boots wet!). Enjoy.

Ned’s Lighthouse
Made it out to a new location last weekend, Ned’s Lighthouse. Dave (Simms) suggested it so we headed out to a fun lighthouse in Massachusetts with easy access. It’s was almost weird having it be at the end of a street in town with a park with plenty of parking and no rules. Enjoy.

Beach Night
Let’s see here… this update covers a beach night, a boat ride night, and a birthday/graduation/pool party. Bella also learned to sit at the table all on her own. She’s been walking all over the place which has been awesome. I also think she can already dance better than I can! Enjoy!

Gray Days
Sometimes I go out on my sunrise shoots and find drab gray mornings. I don’t let it keep me from shooting. I always work to get something worthwhile from every shoot. Let me know what you think!

SHE WALKS!!!!
After all these updates and all these “she’s almost walking” comments, Isabella is finally walking! I know it’s been a few weeks since my last update, but in that time she’s really walking now. She can go from the front room through the kitchen to the back room w/o any help and will even do…
