Ben’s tech straps!

I’ve been using straps like this for quite a while now.  It started because I don’t like having anything on my camera that can scratch it (metal rings, strap buckles etc) as well as the fact a strap on a camera that’s set down on a table or counter with a kid in the house is a recipe for disaster…  So I’ve always wanted my straps to be easily removable and I wanted the remaining portion to be small and noise free.  So one day I took some spare line out of my sailing kit and made myself the straps you see blow.  Well, enough of my friend have seen them and asked about them that I figured I’d start making them for them.  So this is the start of a new adventure, we’ll see where it goes!  Check the images below for examples of my cameras with my original version as well as images of what I’m making now (basically the color options).

  1. Hi Ben, did you ever start selling these? Or maybe have a good source for the rope that isn’t in bulk? This is perfect as an addition to my GF1 and when I don’t want to use the y-strap with it.

    • Linh, I’m selling these. Email me at benjaminbjacobsen (at) hotmail.com and we can sort out the colors etc.

  2. Are you still selling these? I’ve tried contacting you at the email address given above as well as the one listed on your contact page with no response. I am very interested in buying a couple.

    • Jon,
Yes I am, I just found your email burried in a junk folder somehow. Sorry, and I’ll reply to it.
