Yep, selling my 300 f4.  I LOVE this lens, but I use it primarily for sailing and surfing shots where I’m typically pretty restricted in where I can shoot from.  So a prime just doesn’t work very well for that.  Also, I’ve been using it with the 1.4 TC a lot lately which it take pretty well.  But in lens tests I’ve seen the 100-400 is slightly worse at 300mm and better at 400/420 that it’s enough to make the leap.  Also, the 100-400 obviously ads 100-299 to the table as well as 301~399…  So it’ll be much more versitile.  I’m a bit bummed but the fact it’s 5.6 at 300 and up (and it switched to 5.6 earlier than 300) but I’ll live.  Especially once I get a 5Dii, it’s ISO performance should make up for that stop…
